The Challenge

CIM was founded because granular data from existing sensors and equipment weren’t being used efficiently, if they were even captured at all. This data is the key to unlocking a buildings true potential—and this is where CIM’s SaaS platform called PEAK comes in. PEAK automatically collects and digitizes live building data to accelerate fault detection and resolution. The main challenge is finding the right people to build, enhance, and manage this platform and the data it collects. In Australia, most of the people they could hire were interns who didn’t stay long. This led them to look beyond local talent, specifically in the Philippines.

The Solution

CIM expanded their recruitment efforts outside of Australia to find more qualified people for their open roles. This proved to be another challenge because they didn’t know how or where to start. nXscale isn’t an expert in the analysis of building data, but we know how and where to find the best people for the job. To help CIM build their team in the Philippines, we focused on showing the company the following:

  • How to build an offshore team that acts as an extension of their internal team
  • What type of talent they need
  • Finding the right people while staying within budget

This led to the company tasking us to hire more people to augment their other internal teams. The talent they hired here were also licensed engineers, which they preferred more compared to the interns they could’ve hired locally. Even the junior-level building professionals nXscale hired were a good fit, and were within CIM’s budget. On the flip side, we were also able to provide opportunities to Filipino OFW’s who wanted to continue working while also being able to be with their families here.
